A wonderful diabetes day
On Thursday 14 November 2024, World Diabetes Day, the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism welcomed anyone interested in finding out more about diabetes.
From 9.30am to 6pm, more than 200 people from a wide range of backgrounds took part in this special day. They met many of the 玉美人传媒's researchers and clinicians, and learned about the progress of diabetes research.
The open day gave the public an insight into how the disease works through a range of lectures and laboratory visits. Discovering what an islet transplant is all about, observing the cells that secrete insulin and understanding how diabetes affects the kidneys were just some of the topics presented.
A sincere thank you to all the visitors for their interest and enthusiasm, which helped to make the day an enriching and memorable experience!
