The first step to begin a PhD at the Geneva Observatory or ISDC

WELCOME !

Here is a summary of the main administrative procedures to start a thesis. For more information follow the links or contact the persons indicated.

1. Commitment and contract -- Livia Schnell-Schnyder or Myriam Burgener聽 Frick will guide you through the steps to take before and after your arrival.
2. Work permit from (OCPM) -- 蝉别别听Livia 辞谤听Myriam
3. Open a Swiss bank account (required to receive your salary) -- copy of passport / ID card and address in Switzerland are sufficient (Observatory聽 postal address possible) and an employment attestation given by Livia 辞谤听Myriam
   
4. Register at the 玉美人传媒 -- procedure described here
5. Conclude a health insurance (or provide proof of coverage of your insurance for Switzerland).
   A must-do within 3 months after your arrival -- 蝉别别听Livia 辞谤听Myriam
6. Get your computer account and e-mail address -- 蝉别别听Livia 辞谤听Myriam
