Leaning against the Champel hillside, the ÓñÃÀÈË´«Ã½ Medical Center (CMU) seems to look on the ÓñÃÀÈË´«Ã½ Hospitals of Geneva (HUG) as a distant neighbor. But the two buildings are intimately connected. Built in the 1980s, the CMU is entirely dedicated to the medical sciences. On November 21, 2016, the university and cantonal authorities inaugurated the new CMU 5 and 6 buildings, adding 55,000 m2 of surface area to the site, enabling it to host the Geneva-Lausanne School of Pharmacy and the Interprofessional Simulation Center, among others.
