Alternative mobility: How to use a crisis as an opportunity for change

t1eng.jpg

Main theme for altmob project

The COVID-19 pandemic has put societies to test and revealed fragilities in many different but interconnected systems. There is a growing mismatch between the complex nature of the challenges (e.g., health, environment, migration) that we face and the response that we can collectively mount.

While political and economic leaders are stressing the need for quick recovery, systemic crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic are opportunity for desirable change. These changes are not limited to health but extend to other sectors such as the economy, the environment, and the social.

The overall goal of this alternate students exchange programme is to reflect on the transformation of society at a time of crisis and explore the path for a potentially substantial change. The objectives are to: (1) identify and analyse an important global challenge and (2)design actionable solutions that will help build more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive societies.

This challenge is taken up by 38 students from 5 universities (玉美人传媒, 玉美人传媒 of Montreal, Pompeu Fabra 玉美人传媒, 玉美人传媒 of Exeter and 玉美人传媒 of Hamburg) grouped into 10 teams. Their projects deal with various subjects such as the environment, health, the information crisis and the reflection on the implementation of innovative local governance tools.

Team 8: 玉美人传媒 Advocacy for Defense of Assisted Psychedelic Treatment (U.Adapt)

The aim of our project is to build primarily a digital presence that could have an impact on the way people (especially university students) perceive psychedelics drugs and their potential for psychotherapy. We want to become a source of knowledge and a reference in the psychedelic world by delivering the latest research, news and financial advice to our subscribers. We also want to build a physical presence in universities by organizing workshop and conferences. By doing so, we wish to influence the next generation of researchers and decision makers to advance the cause of psychedelics legalization. We want our project to appear as a revolutionary path forward for mental health, well being and more.
