Doctoral Program in Mineral Sciences

The DPMS ( des Min茅raux in french) aims to foster scientific quality and creativity in the field of Mineral Sciences and to promote mobility and soft skills competence.

The education and training offer comprises acquirement of scientific tools (mainly analytical methods), soft skills, and a broad scientific background through courses, workshops and field excursions.聽

The DPMS unites the doctoral students and senior teaching scientists of the traditional disciplines mineralogy, material sciences, petrology, geochemistry,聽geochronology聽and archeometry from the Universities of Fribourg, Gen猫ve, Lausanne, Neuch芒tel and Bern. Activities are also open to doctoral students and researchers from other related fields and other universities.聽

The DPMS aims to enhance collaboration and scientific exchanges between the research groups of the CUSO universities.聽DPMS doctoral students are welcome to (co-)organise their own activities.聽Furthermore, doctoral students have the opportunity to present their聽research and results at the annual DPMS meeting day. Discussions with senior teaching scientists and with doctoral students from other universities聽give聽students the chance to聽discuss new scientific developments and to exchange methods, ideas and points of view.
