Accommodation Request - For Exams

To benefit from an accommodation for your exams, you will need to submit an online "Accommodation Request" to the Special Needs Office.  This request will be evaluated by the Student Health Service (SSE) and the Accommodation Assessment Committee for Special Needs (CEBP). As this committee meets only four times a year, it is important to submit your request within the deadlines.

Procedure

To request accommodations for exams, you must ensure that you:

  • To be enrolled at the 玉美人传媒*
  • Carefully review the deadlines,
  • Have all the required documents requested by the Special Needs Office,
  • Complete the online form.

*If you are currently in the process of enrolling or participating in a mobility program (exchange, Erasmus, etc.) at the 玉美人传媒 — meaning you have been admitted but your official registration has not yet been confirmed — you are required to complete a preliminary request form for exam accommodations. Good to know

You will need to submit your first request for special accommodation at UNIGE.

Accommodations granted in your previous studies are not automatically transferred to UNIGE, as the eligibility criteria may differ.

The accommodations granted are valid for the entire duration of your Bachelor's or Master's program within the same faculty, unless you have been notified of a different duration.

You will find the validity period of your accommodations in the decision document you received when you made your request. If the validity period is still in effect, you do not need to submit a new accommodation request to the Special Needs Office.

  • Your date of birth, postal address, and UNIGE student ID number.
  • Your academic program: faculty/center/institute, year of study, exact title of your program (and any additional enrolments).
  • Information about your disability or condition(s). You will need to:
  1. First select the primary condition for which you are requesting accommodations
  2. Specify the accommodations requested for this condition.
  3. Upload the corresponding medical certificate (PDF), duly completed and signed by a qualified healthcare professional. (All information regarding the required documents for each condition can be found in the relevant sections.
  4. Once these three steps are completed, you may, if needed, request accommodations for an additional condition and repeat the same steps (choice of accommodations and upload of the corresponding medical certificate).

Confidentiality
Your data will be processed confidentially and exclusively by the Special Needs Office (including doctors, psychologists, speech therapists, and coordination staff), and stored securely.

You will need to submit a new request for special accommodation to the Special Needs Office if :

  • You wish to receive a different accommodation.
  • You have changed Faculty or Section and therefore started a new program.
  • You have moved from a Bachelor's to a Master's program.

For accommodations related to continuous assessment, you must submit your request at least one month in advance.

In the accommodation request form, clearly indicate your enrollment in multiple faculties.

Accommodations are granted only for the programs specified in the accommodation request.

If you take an exam in a faculty other than the one in which you are enrolled, without informing the Special Needs Office, you risk not being able to receive accommodations for the exams in the second faculty.

Students of the Faculty of Medicine are not subject to the final deadline for submitting accommodation requests for exams (spring semester).
