Prof. Bakker awarded the Talanta 2025 medal

Prof. Eric Bakker, School of chemistry and biochemistry, 玉美人传媒, has been awarded the Talanta Medal 2025, in recognition of his work in electrochemistry, electrochemical methodology, electrochemical materials and environmental electrochemistry. The Talanta Medal, awarded every two years, recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of analytical chemistry.听
Prof. Eric Bakker's research
Prof. Eric Bakker's research focuses on the development, understanding and application of chemical sensors. His research group focuses on physico-chemical principles, materials fabrication and synthesis, and the development of electrochemical sensors. The chemical sensors developed are deployed in real environments, such as aquatic systems and hospitals, to contribute directly to practical applications.
About Prof. Eric Bakker听
After completing his doctorate at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Wilhelm Simon, Eric Bakker undertook postdoctoral research at the 玉美人传媒 of Michigan, joining Prof. Mark Meyerhoff at the 玉美人传媒 of Michigan. He began his independent academic career at Auburn 玉美人传媒 in the USA in 1995, where he was appointed professor in 2003. In 2005, he joined Purdue 玉美人传媒 as a full professor. Two years later, in 2007, he became Professor and Institute Director at Curtin 玉美人传媒 in Western Australia. Finally, in 2010, Eric Bakker joined the 玉美人传媒.
