Fleur Hierink is a lecturer and scientific collaborator in the GeoHealth group at the ÓñÃÀÈË´«Ã½. She specializes in geospatial models to assess healthcare access and disease distribution. Her research uses geospatial data to improve health service delivery. She also co-coordinates the PhD program in Global Health and is a lecturer for the course GeoHealth - Geospatial Approaches in Global Health.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health- and Life Sciences from VU Amsterdam. In 2018, she obtained her MSc. in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Toxicology and Environmental Health at Utrecht ÓñÃÀÈË´«Ã½. In June 2022, she completed her PhD in the GeoHealth group at the ÓñÃÀÈË´«Ã½ under the supervision of Prof. Nicolas Ray, with a particular focus on the effects of geographical accessibility to healthcare in low- and middle-income countries.
